The first thing I know about noise is the highest quality, almost overbuilt hot tubs are the most quiet. I find it very annoying to hear loud blowers that are cooling down the motor and besides that are wasting a lot of energy. These cheap hot tubs sound like vacuum cleaners. The better designed tubs have air induction jets that mix air and water at YOUR desired ratio without having the need for a separate motor just for a blower.
Most tubs that are older get louder as it ages. This is usually because the motors are worn out or damaged and people don't realize it. Sometimes there is an air leak in the suction line that causes the noise.
