Depending on what is being filtered, is it bigger microbes or microscopic stuff? Different filters might be needed depending on how the hot tub is maintained or what people are bringing in it such as going in after working out with high TDS oil all over the body. Some people have lotion residue that when mixes with hot water starts to create foam and daily this can cause a problem.
Most filters in the hot tubs at homes I have seen are already worn out or clogged and people keep using them. No wonder there is mildew and mold around their tub. It often starts on the spa covers too. It's funny how people invite me over and wonder why I won't get in their hot tub. You can just smell it and know something is up.
