Knowing if you bought the wrong hot tub!
I won't say cheap. I will say affordable hot tubs. Because of the price these are the best selling tubs. Most of the affordable hot tubs are under 2000 dollars and are very easy to set up and you can start filling it up with water within 20 minutes of taking it apart. The good thing is that you don't need plumbing or special wiring.
Typically, these don't go higher than 1000 watts and are usually pretty energy efficient as they don't have a lot of high performance jets to power. You can relax in these as they usually are all about the bubble jets. These typically weigh under 70 pounds.
This doesnt necesary mean bad. You want to get a good warranty but not necessary getting top o the line copoients. if your goal for your tub is you want one and are satisfied you are gonna get a good 3 years out of one, then this type might be an option for you. What makes them affordable? The motor is not quite as strong. The jets aren't as strong but it will get the job done for those that don't need something so strong.
If you don't need deep tissue pressure, you probably won't get it here. Do not confuse tubs that are a best bang for your buck that sell cheaper but have the quality components. There are many factory direct places that will bump you up even 2 levels. You can pay for an affordable one but since you aren't working with middlemen and high over head, you can often get two to 3 times the quality that you are paying for. So, you skip to something more therapeutic that has stronger jets for the same price they sell at a retail store. On best bang for you buck tubs, you pay the borderline affordable price but the components are very high end.
How to get the tub you need on the CHEAP!
You can still get a great tub experience on the cheap but you will have to sacrifice a few or many things to get it. Loudness is the first sign of a cheap tub. They are usually not fully foamed and not sound dampened. If you don't mind not hearing your friends talk in the tub, then noise might not matter. It also depends on where the tub is located. Tubs out in the open tend to be quiet. Some tubs might sound low but resonate so low that it makes conversations on the phone sound muffled. (Knowing the pitch level can be just as important as loudness).
